COLOMBIA: New Yellow Fever Vaccination Requirement

April 26, 2017

From 1st April 2017, the Colombian government has introduced a new requirement for travellers entering Colombia from Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda and Brazil to present an international yellow fever vaccination at the port of entry.

Circular 000018 was issued on 29th March 2017, in response to the recent international yellow fever outbreak. It also recommends that national and international travellers wishing to visit yellow fever risk areas within Colombia should be vaccinated at least ten days before traveling and should take additional protection measures.

Our advice

Those intending to travel to Colombia from the designated yellow fever risk countries, or from any country to a yellow fever risk area in Colombia, and who have not already been vaccinated against yellow fever, should ensure they are vaccinated at least ten days before travelling.
