DENMARK: Amended Rules for Certain Foreign Workers

Effective 1 June 2019, the Danish government has announced some minor changes to the immigration rules.
Working hours now have to be at least 30 hours per week (previously, the minimum was 37 hours per week). The minimum salary of DKK 426,985.06/month and the bank account requirement for this route remain unchanged.
Danish companies can apply to the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI) for a corporate level approval, known as a 'Company Fast-Track Certificate', to make it easier and quicker for them to hire foreign applicants who are highly paid, researchers or attending high-level training.
One of the conditions for this certification has been amended: within the last year, the company must not have been convicted more than twice with fines of at least DKK 60,000 (companies with up to 250 employees) or DKK 100,000 (companies with more than 250 employees) under the Danish Aliens Act.
Previously, the company must not have been convicted repeatedly or have been subject to a fine of at least DKK 20,000 under the Danish Aliens Act, within the last two years.
Foreign students (Danish Master Degree and Ph.D.) who already hold a Danish student permit can now start working when their application for a work permit has been submitted.
