MALAYSIA: Introduction of DE Rantau Nomad Pass

The Malaysian government has recently announced the introduction of a digital nomad visa called DE Rantau Nomad Pass. Applications will be accepted from 1 October 2022.

This pass aims to attract digital professionals in the information technology industry and applications will be facilitated through Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC). It will be divided into two categories: local nomad and foreign nomad.

The duration of the pass is said to be for one (1) year and will be renewable for another year. Foreign nationals on this visa type are able to include spouse and child/children on their application. They will also be required to meet a minimum annual salary in addition to other eligibility criteria.
