Immigration Summary

A Work Permit is the standard immigration process for foreign nationals working in Cameroon. Note that in all cases an employment contract is needed with the local entity. Once approved and stamped by the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training, the employment contract acts as the work permit, and is valid for a maximum of two years. It can be renewed once (making a total of four years) after which long-term residence may be applied for.

The applicant can enter Cameroon with an entry visa but may only commence work once the work permit has been approved. An application for a residence permit must also be submitted.
