INDONESIA – Random immigration inspections are expected to take place from October 7-9, 2024

Employers in Indonesia should be aware of an increased likelihood of random immigration inspections by immigration authorities on work locations, including offices, factories and possibly residences to check whether foreign nationals hold relevant visas or permits. Inspections are expected to take place between October 7-9 and could take place across the country.

This follows a broader trend of increased immigration inspections in Indonesia extending back to Q2 of this year.

Newland Chase insight

No notice will be given to employers in advance of an on-site inspection. For this reason, we recommend that HR and/or global mobility teams ensure that employee records and immigration files are up-to-date, together with all relevant corporate documents. Information that should be up-to-date includes, but is not limited to, office/work address, endorsement transfers, and job title changes.

As always, don’t hesitate to reach out to your Newland Chase dedicated contact should you have any specific questions regarding this development.
