Buenos Aires, Argentina

On October 6, 2025, Argentina’s Immigration Office launched a new digital pathway for foreign nationals to apply for Argentine nationalization or citizenship through its online platform, RADEX. This marks a significant procedural shift, as applications were previously managed through the Judiciary Authorities, often resulting in lengthy processing times. The updated process will now be entirely administered by the Immigration Office in a digital format, aiming to improve efficiency and reduce delays.

To be eligible, applicants must be physically present in Argentina at the time of submission. Foreign nationals over the age of 18 who were born outside Argentina and currently hold Temporary or Permanent Residence must also meet the criteria outlined in Article 2, paragraph 1, of Citizenship Law 346 and its subsequent amendments.

Required documentation includes:

  • Argentine National Identity Document (DNI)
  • Current Police Clearance Certificate issued by the Criminal Records Office (Registro Nacional de Reincidencia)
  • Proof of occupation and/or means of livelihood
  • CUIT (Tax ID) and/or CUIL (Social Security ID)

This reform represents a broader effort to streamline and modernize Argentina’s citizenship procedures by consolidating them within the scope of immigration administration.
