Dublin, Ireland

In light of current processing timelines and the potential for additional delays as the holiday period approaches, IRP cardholders are strongly advised to review the expiry dates of their permissions and submit renewal applications at the earliest opportunity.

Immigration Service Delivery’s (ISD) registration office in Burgh Quay, Dublin, is experiencing high volumes of Irish Residence Permit (IRP) card renewal applications. Current processing times are three to four weeks from the date of submission, plus an additional two weeks for delivery of the new IRP card by post.

The Irish government is urging non-EEA nationals with permissions expiring before or during the Christmas travel period to submit their online renewal applications by October 31, 2025, considering that an in-date IRP card is required for international travel. Applications submitted after October 31, 2025, may not be processed in sufficient time to issue a new IRP card before Christmas, although ISD has said that they will make every effort to do so.

At Newland Chase, we are pleased to offer assistance should any employee encounter difficulties with their IRP card renewal application. Please do not hesitate to get in contact with us.
