Companies planning to assign individuals from The Philippines, Nepal, and Vietnam to Japan should monitor updates regarding this requirement.

Long-term assignees of Philippine, Nepalese, and Vietnamese nationality are required to undergo a tuberculosis screening test and submit the test result as a new document requirement for Certificate of Eligibility (COE) applications. The requirement takes effect from the following dates:

  • Philippines and Nepal national: June 23, 2025
  • Vietnamese national: September 1, 2025
