Immigration Summary

The TR-L (Transeunte Laboral) Visa and Non-Resident Work Permit, initially issued for one year and renewable, is applicable to foreign nationals entering Venezuela as temporary employees of the Venezuelan entity. Note that a local contract must be entered into with the Venezuelan entity. After three years as a non-resident, it is possible to change to resident status in-country.

The TR-N (Transeunte de Negocios) Visa can be used for up to 180 days and is intended for non-immigrant traders, executives, representatives of enterprises or industries and micro-entrepreneurs who enter the country to carry out activities and/or transactions related to trade, mercantile, financial or other lucrative activities in connection with their business. It is non-renewable. The application should be made at the consular post in the country of residence prior to departure. Note that if the TR-N visa holder signs a local contract with an entity in Venezuela, he/she must obtain a TR-L (Transeunte Laboral) visa at the relevant consular post abroad.
