Overview
Newland Chase advises clients that visa processing in Venezuela is expected to be delayed due to nationwide power disruptions affecting government operations.
Government agencies responsible for immigration and visa adjudication are currently experiencing reduced operational capacity as a result of frequent power outages. In particular, Ministry of Foreign Affairs personnel are reportedly operating on limited schedules, which is impacting the processing of electronic visa applications.
Impact on Visa Processing
As a consequence of these disruptions, processing times for Venezuelan e-Visas have increased significantly.
While applications submitted between July and September 2026 were generally being approved within 4 to 7 business days, current processing times are now averaging approximately 2 to 4 weeks, with timelines subject to further fluctuation depending on government operations.
Recommendations
Travelers and sponsoring organizations should:
- Submit visa applications as early as possible.
- Allow additional time before confirming travel arrangements or project start dates.
- Anticipate potential delays beyond standard processing times.
- Consult with their Newland Chase representative regarding urgent travel requirements.
Looking ahead
Newland Chase will continue to monitor developments closely and provide further updates as additional information becomes available. While every effort is being made to minimize delays, processing timelines remain subject to government capacity and cannot currently be guaranteed.
