The Temporary Protection Transition Scheme (TPTS) is now officially open for applications from 30 September 2026, providing an opportunity for eligible beneficiaries of Temporary Protection in Ireland to transition to an alternative immigration permission and establish a longer-term pathway to residence in Ireland.
The scheme enables qualifying individuals and their eligible family members to apply for a Stamp 4 permission, allowing them to live and work in Ireland without the requirement for an Employment Permit. Residence under this permission may also count towards future Irish citizenship eligibility.
Who May Be Eligible?
Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria set out by the Irish authorities, including requirements relating to:
- Duration of residence in Ireland under Temporary Protection;
- Employment or self-employment history and minimum income thresholds;
- Independent living arrangements and other scheme conditions.
Applicants are encouraged to review the official guidance carefully before submitting an application and ensure that all required supporting documentation is available.
Applications Now Live
Applications can now be submitted through ISD Online Portal:
