We would like to inform you that Interministerial Ordinance MJSP/MRE/MTE No. 68, dated September 15, 2026, was published in the Brazilian Official Gazette (DOU No. 176-D, dated September 17, 2026), establishing a new residence authorization for work purposes, prior to visa issuance, for foreign nationals traveling to Brazil to perform activities related to the preparation, planning, organization, and execution of mega events.
The new regulation introduces a specific immigration category for foreign professionals involved in mega events held in Brazil, covering activities across the various stages of these projects, from initial preparation and planning to organization and execution.
This measure may benefit companies, event organizers, sponsors, and service providers that need to mobilize foreign professionals to support large-scale events and related projects in Brazil. Companies planning upcoming events or projects are encouraged to review their workforce mobilization needs and assess whether their foreign personnel may qualify for this new immigration category.
