USA: USCIS Announces Fee Increase

November 15, 2016

The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced that from 23rd December 2016 there will be an increase in the filing fees payable by employers and individuals when submitting applications and petitions for adjudication.

Fees will increase for the first time in six years by an average of 21%. The USCIS have announced that such action is necessary to reflect their increased processing costs.

The upcoming new fees can be viewed directly on the USCIS Website.

Our advice

Employers and individuals should plan accordingly and, where possible, submit applications prior to the effective date of the fee increase. Employers and individuals are advised that applications and petitions postmarked or filed on or after 23rd December 2016 must include the new fees. Applications which do not include the new fees will be rejected by USCIS.

Employers and individuals uncertain of the fees applicable to them should contact the Newland Chase Global Team at [email protected] for professional support and guidance.
