USA: Changes for Chinese Visitors

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection have introduced new steps in the entry clearance process for Chinese visa holders to facilitate their entry to the USA.
The Electronic Visa update System (EVUS) is the online system for Chinese travelers, to update basic biographic information. Beginning in November 2016, in addition to a valid visa, Chinese nationals that hold a 10 year B1/B2, B1 or B2 (visitor) visas will be required to use the Electronic Visa update System (EVUS) to update their basic biographic information. Chinese travelers will need to go online and update their information periodically in order to comply with EVUS requirements.
The new requirements will affect both current visa holders and new applicants. Enrollment will remain valid for 2 years or until the traveler”s visa or passport expires, whichever is earlier. If expired, visa holders will then have to update their information before traveling to the U.S. again. Those that fail to comply with the new requirements may have to delay their travel plans.
The US Government expects that this requirement may be applied to additional countries in the future.
