KYRGYZSTAN: Newest Member of EEU
November 18, 2015
Kyrgyzstan has become the latest country to join the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), meaning its nationals can now work in Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia without the need to obtain work authorisation from the relevant immigration authorities.
Established in January 2015, the EEU is a union of countries in the Eurasian region, formed with the intention of boosting the economy of its member states by encouraging business relationships across the borders and facilitating the movement of nationals between these countries.
Consequently, it is now far easier and less costly for employers in participating member states to hire nationals from inside the union, by avoiding lengthy immigration procedures.
As a new member state, nationals of Kyrgyzstan now benefit from freedom of movement within the Eurasian area.
