Following a 15 year hiatus from increasing immigration fees, the South Korean government has doubled and in some cases even quadrupled its processing fees as of 1 January 2014. While this presents a substantial increase in costs, the rise in fees is certainly proportionate to comparable immigration fees currently charged by governments across the globe.
