CHINA: CIBT Launches China Reopening Webpage

January 27, 2023

For travelers who are interested in going to China, CIBT has launched a new webpage. Here, would-be travelers can apply for visas, or sign up to receive information about documentation needed to travel to China, and the current state of travel restrictions.

Recently, China eliminated some entry requirements and dropped the mandatory COVID-19 quarantine period following entry to the country. Now all a traveler needs to enter China is a negative PCR-test taken no earlier than 48-hours prior to departure, along with a valid visa. China is currently issuing visas for business and family reunification visits but is not issuing tourist visas. It is expected the issuing of tourist visas will begin again in the near future.

As of this writing, all visas issued prior to March 2020 are suspended, including 5-year and 10-year visas with remaining validity. After nearly three-years of pent-up demand for China visas, CIBT expects a surge of renewal and new visa requests.
