MALAYSIA – ESD Will Process FKW Projection Applications Immediately

With effect from 1 April 2023, Expatriate Services Division (ESD) will approve projection applications instantaneously.

Companies registered with ESD must still apply for the annual projection requirement. The wait time for quota approvals is about four (4) weeks from submission for any applications submitted before this change took effect. Authorities recommend companies to re-submit their quota projections if they have yet to receive an outcome for applications filed prior to April. In case companies have any unutilized approved projection for the current year, the quota approval cannot be carried forward and utilized for the following year.
