UNITED KINGDOM: Increase in Visa Availability Under Tier 1 Exceptional Talent

The UK government has announced an increase to the number of visas available under the Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent) route, from 1,000 per year to 2,000 per year.
Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent) is aimed at non-EEA nationals who are considered to have exceptional world class talent and are acknowledged as being world leaders, or potential world leaders, in the fields of science, humanities, engineering, medicine, the arts or digital technology.
Allocation of Visas
The current allocation of 1,000 visas is split among five endorsing bodies: Tech City UK; Arts Council England; The British Academy; The Royal Society; and The Royal Academy of Engineering.
The additional 1,000 places will be made available across all of the endorsing bodies dependent on need.
