China Opens to APEC Card and Student Visa/Permit Holders

August 23, 2022

In many countries, Chinese Embassies and Consulates have announced that from 24 August 2022, foreigners holding valid APEC business travel cards and students visa/permits will be permitted to enter China.

In the meantime, Chinese immigration authorities will resume the issuance of X1 student visas to foreign students and S1/2 visas to their dependents. Newland Chase expects more countries will follow the same rules soon.

The Chinese governments have taken the above measures to further ease entry to China.

Organisations and individuals impacted by this development are encouraged to contact a Newland Chase immigration specialist for case-specific advice.
