GERMANY: Authorities Closure and Delays

December 14, 2022

The German immigration authorities are currently experiencing extensive delays in processing applications. This will be exacerbated by the Berlin local Town Hall closing until February 2023 due to elections. The closure of the offices in Berlin mean it will take longer to get an appointment, which will affect registration, re-registration, and de-registration requests.

Currently, pre-approval applications at the Federal Employment Office can take up to 12 weeks from the date of submission.
