The Israeli Government has announced a new requirement that all applications for B-1 Work Visas must now be supported by a copy of the applicant”s Government-approved photo identification card.

The new rule also applies to individuals who are currently awaiting a decision on applications pending with the Ministry of Interior.

If the foreign national does not possess an ID card, other approved forms of identification include a national ID card or residency ID card issued by the Israeli Government, and a driver”s license.  This new rule is in addition to the current requirement that the applicant must submit his or her original current passport.

The B-1 Work Visa is for foreign nationals who wish to stay and work in Israel for a limited period of time.  It is issued by the Ministry of the Interior following an interview and the submission of various documents.
