KUWAIT: MPA Labor Transfer Proposals

Ongoing discussions in Kuwait are being held over The Manpower Public Authority Act (MPA), in order to make the process of leaving one company and going to work for another an easier process. Current immigration restrictions mean it can be very hard for an employee to leave their current job for another.
Proposals are being made to try and ensure there is only one department controlling the whole process, this should help improve the timescale it currently takes and reduce the barriers that are currently in place to prevent employees moving to another job or contract. The process will also benefit employees who currently work on Government projects and wish to change employers.
However this only applies to those that have been working with their employer for more than a year.
