Malaysia – Endorsement at KLIA Available for Additional Pass Categories

As of 1 March 2023, endorsement of MDEC approved passes for categories I, II, and III can now be completed at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport – Main Terminal (KLIA 1) upon arrival if pass holders are arriving through this airport. Pass holders not arriving at this airport will still have to complete the manual endorsement through the relevant counters.

Prior to this announcement, only MDEC approved EP categories I and II could be endorsed at KLIA 1.

Authorities have introduced this alternative endorsement route from the latter part of 2022. Below is a summary of pass categories with this alternative endorsement option as of the time of writing:

  1. ESD Issued Passes
  2. Employment Pass (Categories I, II & III)
  3. Dependant/s to Expatriates of Categories I & II
  4. Long Term Social Visit Pass (LT-SVP) to Expatriates of Categories I & II
  5. Professional Visit Pass (PVP)
