MALAYSIA: Immigration Department Experiencing Severe Delays

Applications made through the Malaysian Immigration Department HQ have recently been experiencing severe delays, often over twice the processing time of an ordinary application.
The current system failure has been attributed to the migration of their internal system to a new set-up.
Unfortunately it would appear likely that these delays will continue as during the current observation of Ramadan and the upcoming Eid festivities government offices work shorter days during this period and therefore may have less time to work through their backlog.
