MEXICO: New Procedure for Foreign Nationals Visiting from the US

Expedited entry procedures have been introduced in Mexico for non-visa nationals entering by land from the US for non-remunerated activities such as business visits or tourism.
Effective immediately, foreign nationals residing in the US can complete the visitor”s permit form and to pay the corresponding government filing fees online, up to 30 days in advance of travel. This fee amounts to $332 MXN, approximately $20 USD.
The form and confirmation of payment then need to be printed and shown to the Mexican authorities at port of entrance. They will determine the total length of stay (up to 180 days) at that time and issue a paper visa form. Both forms need to be returned to the immigration authorities upon departure.
