QATAR: Residence Permit Renewals Now Require Attested Electronic Work Permit

November 5, 2019

Effective 3 November 2019, the immigration authorities will only accept residence permit renewal applications if supported by an attested electronic work contract.

Background

The standard electronic work contract format was introduced by the Ministry of Labour (MADLSA) in 2017, and all new employment contracts are issued in this format, signed by both parties (employer and employee) and attested by the Ministry of Labour.  The attestation process generally takes two to three days.

Our Advice

Employers who may be affected are encouraged to contact a Newland Chase immigration specialist for case-specific advice.
