August 25, 2023

Singapore and China have struck a bilateral agreement to allow graduates from universities and polytechnic schools to engage in six-month internships in each other’s countries. Up to 500 graduates from each country will be allowed to participate in the program.

The program, known as the Youth Interns Exchange Scheme (YES), and is implemented by the Ministry of Education, Singapore and Business China. It is the first bilateral agreement of this type signed by Singapore.

Both countries are touting the benefits of the program in allowing young graduates to learn about each other’s culture and to build relationships to help them in their future careers. The countries also see the program as a way to build the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
