SINGAPORE: New Vaccination Requirement for Dependent Children

November 21, 2018

Effective 1 February 2019, the Ministry of Health will require documentation of diptheria and measles vaccination to be submitted by foreign-born children, in support of applications for long-term immigration passes.

Further Details

  • Foreign-born children aged 12 years and under applying for a Dependant’s Pass (DP) or the Long Term Visit Pass (LTVP) from the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), or a Student’s Pass from the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) will be required to submit proof of diptheria and measles vaccination or immunity to the Health Promotion Board (HPB) for verification.
  • Existing pass will not be subject to this requirement when renewing their pass or applying for a new pass on or after 1 February 2019.
  • Parents/guardians of children who are not due for the required vaccinations at the time of application will be required to follow up on the vaccinations after the child’s entry to Singapore.
  • Those who wish to seek an exemption due to medical reasons will be required to present a doctor-certified document to HPB.
  • The estimated processing time taken by HPB is about 10 working days. Applicants can apply for their long-term immigration passes with MOM and ICA after receiving HPB’s notification that it has verified the submitted documented proof of vaccination or evidence of immunity.
