UK: Changes to the Online Application for Tier 4 Applicants

February 12, 2016

The UKVI have announced that as part of their customer service improvements, changes to the application process for Tier 4 Students are to be implemented. Specifically, these updates will affect those applying from within the UK.

The introduced changes will now include an intuitive apply online process. The new “apply online” feature which will replace the current application process is intended to make the application more streamlined and quicker to navigate.

During the application process or once the application is submitted, applicants can download a printable “pdf” version of the application for their records.

What”s New:

  • Tier 4 Applicants will be able to book a Premium Service Appointment as part of their online application process, with no need to register on another platform of the website;

  • Applicants are no longer required to set up an account to generate the application form, only an email address and password are required to generate the form.  A unique hyperlink will be sent for each application;

  • Multiple Applications can be created and submitted using the same email address;

  • Shorter interactive application forms, asking only questions relevant to your specific application;

  • Customers using the Online Application Service no longer need to register via the Immigration health Surcharge Portal. The online application process incorporates and shares information with the HIS portal.

How long it takes applicants to complete the application will depend on their particular situation, although in some instances it is possible to complete the online application form in as little as 15 minutes.

The online form to extend an existing Tier 4 visa. or to switch to this visa, can be found on the UKVI Website.
