UNITED KINGDOM: Home Office Lifts Suspension on Priority Service for Select Visa Applicants

August 15, 2022

The Home Office has announced that select visa applicants will be able to apply using priority and super priority service from 12 August. The suspension on this optional service has been in place since March 2022 following the crisis in Ukraine.

New customers applying under the eligible routes will have the option to select PV and SPV appointments as part of their online journey. The service must be purchased online during the appointment booking process and cannot be purchased in the Visa Application Centre or retrospectively. It is understood those applying as dependant family members will also have the option to use the priority services.

The service will be open to NEW study and sponsored work applications. It will not be available to applicants who submitted their applications before 12 August, even if they have not yet attended their biometrics appointment – this is to help manage the significant global demand for UK visas.

Standard work visas are taking around 4-6 weeks globally.

Priority Visa Services for new visit visa applications will also continue to be reduced to enable UKVI to process more standard applications. Priority and super priority services for new settled family applications, innovator, start up and high potential individual applications continue to be suspended.
