UNITED KINGDOM: Processing for Entry Clearance Applications

March 16, 2022

The UK Home Office has announced the temporary suspension of the priority and super priority services for new study, work and family visas. This is to focus efforts on applications arising from the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. The suspension currently applies to Entry Clearance applications only – those submitted outside the UK.

Outstanding applications submitted under the priority and super priority routes will continue to be expedited but may take longer to process. Standard routes remain open however applicants should anticipate potential delays with a decision.

Updates issued by the Home Office also indicate that standard visit visa applications are taking an average of six weeks to process.

Newland Chase continues to monitor the situation with the Home Office and will provide updates as further information is released.

Organisations and individuals impacted by this development are encouraged to contact a Newland Chase immigration specialist for case-specific advice. For general advice and information on immigration and business travel to the UK, please contact us.
