VENEZUELA: Increased Processing Times for Immigration Procedures
November 9, 2018
Effective immediately, processing times for immigration procedures at the Venezuelan Administrative Service for Identification, Migration and Foreigners Control (SAIME) have increased.
Processing times cannot currently be anticipated or guaranteed, due to a recent change of internal systems, and the need to retrain SAIME staff in the new procedures.
Which processes are affected?
The delays affect the following processes:
- Visa renewal stamping
- Applying for ID card (cédula) approval for a first-time applicant
- ID card printing (new and renewal)
- Issuance of re-entry permits
Our Advice
Companies and their foreign national employees who may be affected by the processing delays are encouraged to contact their Newland Chase immigration specialist for specific advice.
