Vietnam – Mandates Online Business Visa Applications

March 9, 2023

With immediate effect, immigration authorities in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) are now requiring companies to submit certain multiple entry business visa applications through an online immigration portal managed by the Ministry of Public Security (MPS).

Multiple entry business visa applications can only be submitted manually with the authorities previously in which they require a local company’s employee to physically submit the application documents.  However, with this new online filing process in place, the authorities will no longer be accepting any new manual or paper-based applications.

In order to start utilizing the MPS portal, companies must first obtain a token through any of the local telecommunication companies as the token will serve as the company’s e-signature. It is recommended to request for a token specifically for accessing the MPS portal only for immigration purposes. Once the token is received, company representatives can proceed with the account registration in the MPS portal and online filing can commence once the account registration is approved.

Companies can now expect a more streamlined processing of the multiple entry business visa applications with the new online filing process as it cuts down the requirement of getting a local company employee down at the immigration office for filing. Newland Chase can assist companies in regards to the requesting of token and assisting with the MPS portal account registration, if needed.
