ISRAEL: Strike at Israeli Consulates Worldwide

October 30, 2019

Effective immediately, employees of the consular sections within all Israeli missions worldwide have unexpectedly declared a strike. The duration of the strike has not been announced.

During the strike no consular services will be provided and immigration processes will therefore be delayed.

The strike is a result of a long dispute between the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs over the consular employee’s compensations and taxation benefits.
