ISRAEL: Strike at Israeli Consulates Worldwide Ends

November 4, 2019

The strike unexpectedly declared last week at Israeli consulates worldwide ended on Sunday, 3 November.

As previously reported by Newland Chase here, the strike temporarily halted visa processing through the consulates. Visa processing has now resumed, but applicants should expect slight delays at several consulates as officials process modest backlogs.

The strike was a result of an ongoing dispute between the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs over consular employees' compensations and taxation benefits.
