ARGENTINA: Visa-Free Business Travel Introduced for 35 Countries

June 2, 2017

Argentina has issued a resolution which allows visa-free business travel for nationals that are part of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).  This means they will not need to apply for a business visa if their stay is for a duration of up to 90 days. Please note that normal business activities are permitted and they must not receive pay.

The 35 countries that will now benefit from visa-free travel in Argentina can be found here, they include the likes of; Canada, US, most of Europe, New Zealand and Australia.

Up until now business-visa exemptions have been unclear because, although Argentina had entered the bilateral agreement which contained business-visa exemptions, these exemptions were not enforced.  Now nationals of the OECD countries should find that they will save time and will not have to go through the hassle of applying for a consular service.

We advise clients to be cautious with this new resolution and seek advice from one of our Newland Chase specialists. It is important to remember that paid work or work related activities are still not permitted on the waiver.
