European Union extends deadline for Employers to provide views on EU Blue Card reforms

30th September 2015 has been set as the new deadline for all to provide comments on the proposal to overhaul the EU Blue Card Scheme. 

The European Commission issued a migration agenda discussing the need for EEA skilled migration in order to promote the EU”s economic growth.  The agenda specifically deliberated on expanding and revising the EU Blue Card Scheme. Proposed changes such as  Increasing the number of Blue Cards available and the benefits of Blue Card holders having greater access to cross EU Borders with ease should increase popularity of the scheme.

The initial proposal was set in May 2015 with the Commission setting a proposed deadline for all comments and views by the public to be submitted by 21st August 2015. Since, the Commission have extended the deadline to the end of September in order for all to provide their opinions on the scheme.
