MALAYSIA: Foreign Employee Projections Open for 2016

On the 30th of November, Malaysian officials announced that companies, whom are registered with the Expatriate Services Division online portal, can now submit their foreign employee projections for 2016.
The foreign employee projection was set up in 2015, and should be completed on an annual basis. The projection is applicable for all companies who register with Expatriate Services Division (ESD). They must submit projections for the number of foreign nationals they intend to employ within the year, and these include the following four employee categories:
- Middle Management
- Top Management
- Technical Expert/ Technical position
- Entry Level/ Junior Management
However, the projections are exempt for all companies who hold an MSC Malaysia status within the Information and Communications Technology industry, or for any anticipated numbers of Professional Visit Pass (PVP) applications.
Although the process times are usually between 4-6 weeks, it can get very busy over the Christmas period, and we therefore recommend that your projections for 2016 are submitted as quickly as possible.
