Singapore government increases fees for work passes

The Singapore Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has unveiled new fees for all work passes, which will come into force from 1 December 2011.
The government has stated that the increased fees are part of the initiative towards full cost recovery for the Ministry”s work pass operation.
Newland Chase has summarised some of the key changes:
Application fees (Employment and S Passes, and Work Permits)
Increased from $10SGD to $20SGD
Issuance fees
For Employment and S Passes: Increased from $30SGD to $120SGD and $70SGD per issuance respectively
Dependent Pass: Increased from $30SGD per year to $120SGD per issuance
Furthermore, the existing $20 subsidy for employers who request issuance or renewal of Work Permits via Work Permit Online (WPOL) will be withdrawn from 1 December 2011.
