UKVI awards new contracts to manage visa related administration

February 4, 2014

The UKVI (United Kingdom Visas & Immigration) has confirmed it has awarded contracts to VFS Global and Teleperformance Ltd due to commence on 1st April 2014. The companies manage visa related administration, acting as a point of contact and document handler between applicants and embassies. These contracts are expected to see VFS and Teleperformance increasing the number of UK visa application points across the world. Opening hours are likely to undergo changes in a bid to increase efficiency. The UKVI has also confirmed that there are plans to increase the availability of priority and premium services, which greatly speed up application processes in exchange for an extra fee (cost is dependent on country of application).

However, there are also plans to introduce “User Pay” services in developing markets or in present locations which process a low volume of applications. These “User Pay” services require customers to “contribute towards the cost” of running the offered services. The UKVI has stated that without such payments, visa application services would not be available at all.

It”s expected that a more detailed itinerary of upcoming changes will be released closer to 1st April 2014. To find out more, contact us on +44 (0)207 001 2121
