VFS Contract with UKVI extended over South Asia

March 26, 2014

Following on from our news last week, we can confirm that the UKVI has extended their contract with VFS Global until 2019 in India and across South Asia. As per the renewed contract, VFS Global and the UKVI will provide visa application services in India, as well as across South Asia, and have opened two more Visa Application Centres (VACs) in Mumbai; and will further undertake major refurbishment of all VACs.

The two new Visa Application Centres (VACs) in Mumbai are located in the heart of the commercial centres in the North and South of Mumbai – at Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) and Nariman Point and are aimed at providing an enhanced customer service experience to visa applicants. The main benefit will be the introduction of the Premium Lounge at the BKC VAC, which will offer applicants a relaxed atmosphere, with privacy, whilst making their visa application.

Furthermore, the passport pass back service, which is currently only offered in the Chennai VAC, will be extended to all locations in India. This service allows applicants to retain their passports whilst their visa application is being processed. This service is particularly beneficial for business travellers who will be able to travel to other destinations in the meantime. It also helps applicants who apply to visit the UK and wish to also apply for other visas.
